We Will Move Anything For You, But Movers Won’t Move That

Clinton’s Transfer & Storage, Inc is Your Local and Long-Distance Mover

While Clinton’s Transfer & Storage, Inc is a full-service moving company, there are certain items that movers won’t move. Packing and moving to a new home can be overwhelming. As a moving company, we are here to help you. Insured and licensed, Clinton’s Transfer & Storage, Inc has more than 75 years of experience. We offer packing supplies to make your next move as easy as possible. We move various-sized homes, businesses, and other specialty moves. For various safety, legal, and insurance reasons, there are items we are unable to pack and move for you, however. To discuss options and to schedule a move with us, call (540) 552-3201.

Items Movers Will Not Move

Preparation is key for moving day. Here is a list of items we cannot move for you:

Food

We don’t allow anything that will spoil in our trucks. Food also attracts bugs and pests that can damage other items. If you cannot carry it with you, look at local food banks where you can donate it.

Family Heirlooms and Sentimental Items

You should carry irreplaceable items by yourself. While we try our utmost to protect all of your items, there is always a risk when it comes to moving dozens of boxes and heavy furniture.

Personal Documents

You should keep all of your personal documents with you. You may need to use them before moving to your new location. Also, even with movers’ insurance, most of these items are irreplaceable.

Medication and Prescription Drugs

Most medication needs to remain at certain temperatures with regular usage. We cannot guarantee the temperature of our trucks. Also, you may need to use them before you arrive at your new location.

Plants and Pets

It is not safe to put a living plant or animal on a truck. Even in a cage, items can shift, causing harm to them. There is little air circulation, and the truck’s temperature can quickly increase to unsafe levels, regardless of the season.

Cleaning Supplies

Dispose your cleaning supplies and repurchase when you move. While you may think that most are harmless, many cleaning supplies are flammable. Also, if any bottle leaked, many of your packed items could suffer damage.

Firearms and Ammunition

Our team can move firearms in most cases. We do not handle ammunition including gunpowder and primers. If firearms are a part of your move, please let us know when scheduling.

Liquor

Each state has different liquor laws and restrictions on the allowed amount and transportation regulations. Additionally, alcohol is very flammable. Since moving these items could be dangerous and potentially illegal, we do not allow our movers to handle them at all.

Other Hazardous or Flammable Materials

The following items are dangerous to move, especially in quantity. You can easily repurchase these items at your location:

  • Aerosol Cans
  • Fireworks
  • Gasoline
  • Kerosene
  • Matches
  • Nail Polish
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Paint
  • Paint Thinner
  • Pesticides
  • Propane Tanks
  • Weedkiller

… and more.
